The Zhanjiang Sanlingshan National Forest Park of Guangdong is located on the most southern point of the Chinese mainland, 3 kilometers northeastward from downtown Zhanjiang. The park enjoys a unique subtropical forest climate, that covers a total area of 22686 mu. The forest park’s green coverage rate is 98%, with lush vegetation, singing birds, fragrant flowers, rolling hills, and deep valleys, which is the largest green protective barrier of Zhanjiang, known as the “Lung of Zhanjiang”.The Sanlingshan National Forest Park is rich with wildlife and resources. 89 kinds of vertebrates have been spotted in the Park, which fall in 35 families, 18 orders and 4 classes. Nine of them are first class or second class national protected animals: egrets, herons, little swans, mandarin ducks, goshawks, sparrow hawks, greater coucals, tiger frogs and lizards. There are 350 kinds of arbor trees, 482 kinds of bushes and 117 kinds of vegetations, 6 of which are first class or second class national protected plants. The harmony between human beings and nature is highlighted here.Sanlingshan National Forest Park is a ecological suburb park area combining tourism, sightseeing, science popularization, vacation and sports entertainment. The park mainly includes five parts:eco-protection area, eco-sightseeing area, entertainment area, recreation area and reception area. Now, the park has built 25km sightseeing greenway, observation deck, leisure pavilion, waterside pavilion, tourist center and other infrastructures and tourism projects such as ecological garden, recreation facilities and fishing area.
